COVID-19 can affect any person’s life if proper medical care not taken at the right time. However, older adults usually have preexisting conditions like diabetes, hypertension or asthma which can aggravate the infection.

If I wear a mask, I will not suffer from COVID -19
Wearing a mask alone will not protect you from COVID-19. Experts from WHO mentions that wearing a mask can only help prevent the infection, only if the person is regularly washing his or her hands with hand wash or an alcohol-based sanitizer.

Children cannot catch COVID-19
Kids can definitely catch COVID-19, the cases in India are rare as compared to the adult. But, recent cases and studies have confirmed that kids of any age group are likely to be infected with coronavirus if care not taken.
Myth No. 4
Can I consume chicken or eggs or will it cause Coronavirus?
You can consume chicken or eggs. There is no science proving this as yet. Coronavirus doesn’t spread through the chicken flesh or eggs. But, scientists always stresses on consuming the meat-based product properly and evenly cooked.
Myth No. 5
Coronavirus spreads only if you are in contact with the infected one for more than 10 minutes
No, Corona didn’t come and tell me this!! Well, jokes apart, it just requires a touch of a person or an infected object, or cough droplets to spread the virus. It can be in milliseconds or seconds or even minutes, which we do not know. The longer you are exposed, more chances of you getting infected.
Myth No. 6
The virus will die off when temperatures rise in the summer
This claim is made by the experts on the basis of other types of viruses like SARS and MERS epidemic. Some viruses like the milder ones may lower down its spreading during the summers, but do not stop entirely. For COVID-19, scientist are not very sure on this claim that how temperature can influence the nature of SARS-CoV-2
Myth No. 7
The most dangerous virus till date to humankind is a coronavirus
Yes, it is spreading like a fire in the bush; but it is not the deadliest one till date. Ebola virus had higher mortality rate. It was a virus that caused severe bleeding, organ failure, and death.
Myth No. 8
If you hold your breath for 10 seconds every morning, you are healthy
This technique is getting circulated on social media claiming provided by the experts. The 10 – second test being shared online is not very true. This test can help understand whether you suffering from any serious lung ailments, but will not help identify persons who are infected or have mild or major symptoms of COVID-19.
How can you protect yourself from COVID-19?
- Stay Home Protect your Family.
- Always cover your mouth with a mask
- Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds.
- Do greet people with Namaste.
- Use disinfectant wipes or standard cleaning spray to quickly clean down surfaces.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth.
- If you are down with cold, always carry a handkerchief and sneeze into it.
- And if you do not have a handkerchief at that point, sneeze into the crook of your elbow.
